What’s been happening:

In 2007, Tony and his father, Charles Pittman, published their first book: "Playing for Paterno." The book chronicles their two-generation experience under the leadership of Pennsylvania State University legendary coach Joe Paterno. As starters under Paterno, Tony and Charlie went a combined 45-0-1, posting the best known father/son record in the history of major college football. Combined, the two played on 3 of Paterno's 5 undefeated teams. Additionally, both Tony and Charlie were named First Team Academic All-Americans in their senior years, standing as the only father and son in Penn State's proud history of academic excellence to earn the distinction. On August 1, 2002 Mr. Pittman was named Senior Vice President - Newspapers, at Schurz Communications, Inc., a communications media holding company, publisher of the South Bend Tribune and eleven other daily papers and six weeklies. He has been a frequent speaker at community gatherings, especially ones aimed at helping and inspiring young people. His many board memberships include Newspaper Association of America, Newspaper Association of America Foundation, Inland Press Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Michiana Public Broadcasting WNIT, Northern Indiana Center for History, Advisory Board Penn State School of Sports Journalism and Morris Performing Arts Center
